Your catalog stays in your browser

CSV analysis and repair occur locally in your browser. Original CSV contents, repaired CSV contents, and proposed repair values are not uploaded to CSV Preflight’s backend. Downloading creates a copy on your device; the application never overwrites your original file.

Catalog data is held in the open page’s memory. Keep that tab open while working. We do not permanently store your catalog, fetch product image URLs, or send catalog telemetry.

Privacy-limited product analytics

We use PostHog to understand aggregate visits and progress through analysis, repair review, checkout initiation, verified payment, and repaired-file download. Events contain only fixed page names, broad referring-source categories, operation mode, a few yes/no outcome indicators, and our own download price where relevant.

Analytics does not receive uploaded or repaired CSV contents, filenames, product/catalog fields, repair values, Stripe payment identifiers, support email addresses, or payment-card information. We disable session replay, automatic click capture, and user profiles, and do not identify users by name or email.

An anonymous random identifier stays in the open page’s memory. Analytics adds no cookies, local storage, or session storage. Reloading or closing the page starts a new anonymous visit; payment tabs are excluded. We omit URL queries, fragments, raw referrer URLs, and browser/device properties from event payloads. PostHog still receives ordinary network information such as IP address, browser user-agent, and our site’s origin (without a path or query) when requests reach it; IP-based geolocation enrichment is disabled. Your browser may block analytics without affecting the tool.

Payments and temporary cookies

Stripe processes payments through its hosted Checkout. Stripe handles the payment and contact information you provide there under its own Privacy Policy.

CSV Preflight processes payment-related identifiers and payment status server-side to verify a purchase and authorize a repaired-file download. Temporary cookies identify the payment browser, track checkout, and hold a signed download entitlement. They contain no catalog contents and are not advertising cookies. The browser identifier lasts up to 24 hours; checkout and download entitlement cookies last up to two hours. Download access ends two hours after checkout starts.

Hosting and support information

Our hosting and payment providers may process ordinary connection and request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, and request times, to deliver and secure their services. Their retention practices apply to information they process. Local catalog processing does not mean that no information is collected by payment or hosting infrastructure.

If you email support, we receive the contact details, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request and address payment or service problems. Please avoid sending confidential catalog files or sensitive payment information. Information you choose to email is outside the browser-local processing described above.
